Tamiya Panzer IIIN

Postby hughb » Sat Apr 20, 2019 10:49 pm

This is a model I built several years ago, the first one I finished since returning to the hobby. The photographs are not the best quality I'm afraid. I have since added an Alpine DAK tanker to the turret hatch, however don't have recent photos as the model is at my father's place interstate.

I like the look of all the extra equipment usually featured on DAK tanks, so went rather overboard with this one. Maybe the crew are planning an extended field trip? I made sure the barrel still clears when rotating around the 6 o'clock position. For the stowage I used an assortment of spare items, sandbags made from Milliput, and various tarps made from Tamiya epoxy putty. This putty can be rolled out extremely thin then folded or curved like fabric, though is very fragile until it hardens. Fruilmodel metal tracks were also used.

I really like this. Very realistic weathering and the assorted paraphernalia attached to the hull really brings it to life. Top job.
