Update time. After MUCH to-ing & fro-ing with the paint, strip, repaint, modify, lacquer, decal etc etc, this where she's finally up to. The decals didn't quite fit the shapes, didn't have holes where needed, Italeri paint sucks, Humbrol matt-lacquer likewise, weathering covered my "streaky olive wings".......................but she's slowly progressing. Next is a really tricky part - the top wing.

Thanks AD. It's the most colourful of the set. There was another that sported a big "lucky" swastika on the side but wasn't as bright.

I've had nil time for modelling lately, but got a little done in the last couple of days. Fitted the top wing, which involved swearing, fiddling with PE struts, breaking a plastic strut, more swearing, fixing paint blemishes somewhat........................ Just the undercarriage - MORE PE - prop. & little bits & pieces to go  .

I built this kit many years ago...it is a very nice kit indeed. I hate it when stuff doesn't go to plan, nice recovery. I have been tossing up doing a DR1 as my next project. A Roden 1/72 or a Revell 1/28?? Decisions.

Thanks guys. Noel, there's no way I'd consider a 1/72, I'm barely managing with this 1/48! :D I have a course to do tonight so we'll have to see what time I have after that, I'm up at 4am for work  .

I have finally finished this bugger. It's been a journey! There's still some more fine, tiny details I could add to it but I've had enough of it now so I'm calling it done. In retrospect I would've painted most of the markings as the decals were a pain. The PE & some of the struts (metal) were "interesting", fit was iffy but the kit does have quite a bit of detail. I MAY get tempted for a Camel or SE.5a to complement it IF I can face rigging   .
So: Fokker DR.1 of Jasta 19, Western Front, 1918. Pilot & serial unknown.
