The Havoc has wings! And a tail. First fit issue - the two nose sections when joined & added to the fuselage are noticeably narrower. I've got some plastic card strips & am experimenting with how to sandwich them in.

Been a while since I got any work done or updated - junior sports & general life has been full-on - but I've got a little done on the Havoc. She's now up on her feet, radar set on (this isn't from the Italeri kit, btw) & nose attatched. Next step is to mask off, paint & see how she comes up. In one pic you can see the piece of card I used to widen the nose pieces, which were ok at the top but too narrow at the bottom.

We've had probably our busiest Winter ever, with junior sport on both days, Dance, Eisteddfods, performances, terrible weather.................so very little modelling has been done.
But today is Father's Day, so apart from putting up a couple of sensor lights, I managed to blow the dust off the Havoc & do a little more. Just the Gun-Tray added & a coat of black laid on the undersides, but she's beginning to look the part.

Not bad for one coat of spray-can matt-black :).

Getting nearer to done, but.................tomorrow we go away for a couple of weeks, so I might get some decals on tonight & that'll be it for a while. All that's left is various little antennae, radio mast, transparencies, canopies, some (light) weathering & decalling. She's now glossed & about as much panel-lining as I'm going to do. This aircraft was based at Port Moresby in 1943, so I'm figuring on some dirt, dust & mud but the few (Colour!) pictures I've found show her pretty clean so not much more than that. Here she is in company with an Allied cousin for comparison ;) .

Finally got some more done on the Havoc. She's nearly there, just the canopies & a couple of tiny bits & touch-ups to do. The Italeri decals went down much better than I expected, though being mostly red on black they're rather hard to see  . I've done a little wear & tear on her but not much, just have to dull her down now.

Nice combo of night fighters so far - you need a Mosquito.

Thanks guys. Rob, there's a Revell NF Mosquito in the stash I'll probably do next, plus a Monogram Night-Lightning. I'd love a Blenheim & a Hurri. IIC as well.
