Eduard 1/48 FAA Hellcat Mk 1 updated 26 Dec 14

Postby harvs73 » Sun Jul 06, 2014 8:43 pm

This is the Eduard kit made OOB with minimal weathering on the interior and other areas that can't be seen as I want to get this one done. I have the Eduard double box of FAA Hellcats that I plan on using the PE and doing a bit more detail on.

To paint the canopy frames I masked off the canopy then used a spray can of green paint to give them a coat. Once this is dry I will be putting on the undercoat of Mr Surfacer prior to painting it FAA Colours.

It's a nice build this one. I did a few years back.

Hi David,

Wow, you really are cranking them out! And another nice choice of fighter 8-)

Is this an Eduard original or is it another brand used by Eduard, such as them using an Academy Phantom? Either way, it looks nice.

Woody, happy to reply for Dave on this one. It is Eduard's own moulds, and I think Dave is utilising the Dual Combo boxing of the kit that came out a few years back. I have the boxing and plan on doing the pair at some time in the near future too.

Nice work too Dave, looking good.
On the Bench:
Eduard 1/48 La-7
Italeri 1/48 Mirage F-1C

Last completed:
Hasegawa 1/48 F4U-5N Corsair
