Southern Service-80s style

Postby rodenlee » Mon Oct 21, 2019 9:03 am

Hi all
My 1/72 C130E, a type seen many times at AMLV during the 80s running on the Southern Service.

Italeri kit with Attack Squadron engines and Aussie Decals decals.

I haven't weathered the model much as the Trojans were always pretty clean whenever I saw them.

Cheers
Shaun

Very nice Shaun, I spent a few hours in the back of the E models on trips to Darwin and Townsville.

That looks terrific mate, well done. I'm curious what the Attack Squadron instructions say, all four props are in reverse pitch so she must be backing out of AMS Richmond at the start of the day... ;-)

Thanks gents.

Thanks for the "cover story" for the blades Rod. I actually used the kit blades on A/S spinners as the detail on them was easier to paint. I was trying to get them neutral pitch but focussed on the root of each prop, not the larger portion of the blade...

Another good reason to look carefully at reference pics!

Very nice work on my favourite C-130. Lots of hours fixing, running and flying in these babies...

The Attack Squadron engines look so much better than the kit versions, too.
