1/72 Airfix Cessna O-2 Skymaster - another for Fred

I don't remember why Fred gave me a bagged Airfix Cessna O-2. I think I mentioned that I was interested in building one flown by a RAAF FAC pilot.

This one sat in the stash until last month when I decided to do something with it. The tailplane and one wing strut were missing so I made replacements. Fit wasn't great and there were plenty of oversize rivets to deal with along with some gaps to fill.

I chose the markings worn by the Temora Aviation Museum's O-2, in this scale I couldn't quite tackle the unique RAAF FAC markings.

Looks ok in the cabinet with my other Vietnam War subjects.

I'm not older than dirt, but I do remember when it was new.
