and another Mirage...

Postby rodenlee » Sun Apr 07, 2019 7:39 pm

Hi all
My Kinetic 1/48 Mirage. Not a shake and bake and Calum and Troy have provided good comments in their build to warn the unwary of the pitfalls. Not a bad kit though!

Cheers
Shaun

Just noticed the wrong angle on the nosewheel. I have now pulled it back closer to the vertical.

Nice job Shaun, nice to see a 'war load' included on your build.

It seems to be a common error with a few Mirage builds I have seen lately with the Kinetic kit that the innermost control surfaces (the Pitch Dampers) droop like the elevons. They only droop one or two cms at the tip on the actual aircraft when 'relaxed', otherwise, the jet is considered 'broke'.

So no criticism of you build mate, it is great. I just have the Pitch Damper bee in my bonnet and one day will educate the Mirage building masses! :D

Nice going Shaun. I'm have plans to start mine around September this year, so will need to track down those Calum and Troy's build comments in order to avoid the known issues. Thanks also to Ray for the additional control surface information - great stuff.

Cheers and well modelled.. Dave

Thanks for the feedback lads....and the heads up Ray.

I shall rectify that shortly as they pretty easy to remove and re-glue.

Cheers
