Recovery Mirage.

Postby noelbarnes » Sun Mar 24, 2019 11:08 am

I haven't been around for a while and haven't touched a model for a good 6 months. Life gets like that I guess. After recent surgery I had two weeks off work to recoup, so what better way to recover than to pull a couple of kits from the shelf of doom to work on. The first I tackled was the High Planes Mirage IIIO. I had already built and painted the seat a couple of years ago which saved time. I remembered that his was an easy, quick build so this was the best pick. Turned out to be good therapy. I chose the silver scheme, as it held good memories of a Matchbox Mirage I had built growing up. I went with the high speed silver option, (to save time on masking all those natural metal panels up), with Dark Sea Grey leading edges and the black rear radome. It was a very straightforward and fun project with a simple neat finish. I was able to put it in my display cabinet a day before I went back to work.

It's great to see some of the great work happening here too.
