1/48 Monogram EA-6B

Postby jonst95 » Thu Jan 03, 2019 9:51 am

It's well past time to get back to the modelling bench after a almost two year pause. I've got a great new set up and work space, the time and most importantly the drive has returned. Since it's been so long and I'm out of practice of building, I've decided drop the Avionix cockpit set and go purely OOB with the exception of the decals. The kit looks pretty basic and straight forward, which should go together nicely. Painting has already begun of the seats, pictures soon.

Always loved the look of the intruders and prowlers. Does the kit have recessed or raised panels lines? Will be an awesome build can’t wait to see it progress.

Have this kit in the stash. It's a good one. Raised panel-lines IIRC but they don't bug me. Just wish I could find PE for it that doesn't cost more than the kit did. :D

Should be good, I love the classic kits. Will be pretty big too I imagine.

My progress is slow but starting to pick up a little. I've started on the cockpit area by airbrushing most of the components the base dark grey color. The seats didn't go together too smoothly, the overall fit being not so great. I almost switched and went with the Avionix seats but decided to stick with OOB. Not too bad in the end I think.

Apologies everyone for not having an updates. With the weather up here a couple of weeks ago that took me away from the bench and then to top it off I've torn my rotator cuff and dislocated a tendon, also in the shoulder, doing unit PT. Hopefully I won't be out too long but the Doc is already talking surgery.

I'll be following this one closely! I reckon I built this kit when I was about 15. Love the look of these great aircraft.
On the bench: 1:35 Tamiya Chieftain and 1:20 Hasegawa Maschinen Krieger Whiteknight Prototype Battlesuit and assorted figures.
