Recieved a delivery from BNA yesterday and decided to try out some AK Interactive Washes, specifically, the Aircraft Engine Effects Weathering Set.

Detailed the engines with:

    AK-2019 Aircraft Engine oil
    AK-2033 Aircraft engine wash

A couple of pics of the engines mounted....please excuse the crappy pre-shading.

A quick update, work and life have been getting the better of this build.

Managed to get some done today, some armour plate details near the guns.

Hoping to do a final primer tomorrow and some paint on wheels and gear doors.

As an aside does anyone happen to have a couple of spare 1/48 RAAF white letter "P"? The fact that the Novascale decals have the wrong serial letter has got the better of my OCD

Sly , Yes A28-60 is DU-P (Nova have the wrong codes , wrong size and ratio roundels and wrong colour bomb log), it was called "Hilda Shane" after Sqn Ldr Woodman's wife, Hilda and first son Shane, the artwork is from the May 44 Esquire magazine, this aircraft as the CO's aircraft was kept in pristine condition with polished spinners and a very clean airframe and when delivered to the Sqn was brand new (only had 124 hrs on it when destroyed on the Nov 22 raid on Morotai ,Sqn Ldr Woodman flew it on all but 2 of its 22 missions) so don't weather it too much. Also the first 12 A-20G's (50-60and 64) had a unique Australian mod , the R/H engine nacelle was truncated at the end and a rear facing strike camera was installed in the large cavity at the rear of the nacelle. This aircraft was also unique as it had one off 40" 5/2 ratio roundels on the Fuselage side not the official 48" as on the other 11 of the first batch as it was found the 48" roundels wer too big for the Boston sides , all subsequent delivered batches of A-20G's ran the 32" fighter roundel some in all 6 positions some in only 4 (not under wing on very late delivery a/c), the first batch also were the only ones to have fin flashes, the Sqn got lazy with the rest, also the first batch had the US markings professionally painted over on delivery to 3AD leaving almost no trace, 61 to 63 went to 1 AD and also had properly over painted US markings , all subsequent A-20G's came from US stock and had there markings over painted by 22 Sqn, a fact that is published in various magazines books etc , that is wrong is these were second hand aircraft, these A-20G's were brand new late model -40 and -45's not second hand, 6 x A-20G-10 (69-74) were second hand but only used for training not on ops. Looking fwd to seeing the end result , if you want any more Boston info just yell out. There are a couple of other little mods on our A-20G's if you want to incorporate them if its not to late.
Syd. (note my avatar is an artwork profile print of this aircraft)

So a bit of a zombie post.

Finally, some more work has been done on this build, between work, ski season, house reno's and general life this has been well and truly on the backburner. Finally got to get some paint on this build and hope to start detailing soon

Looking nice. My Son built one like this but I did mine as a P-70 Havoc Night Fighter.
