Italeri 1/48 Mirage III 3 SQN RAAF - updated 17 Jul 16

I am doing the Italeri kit for the GB as a 3 SQN aircraft. I am not overly concerned about the interior as I am doing it for the scheme and markings.

Great to see a Mirage build, hopefully one of many for this G.B.
Cheers,
Matt.

While the filler is drying on the Meteor I did a little more work on the Mirage. It goes together quickly but is poorly cast and the raised panel lines are going to have to be rescribed as I know I will be losing a fair few of them in the filling and seam clean up.

I have done a lot of the filling of rubbish panel joins and fuselage mismatches then sprayed on an undercoat of Mr Surfacer 1200 to see what the gaps etc were like. It turned out ok 'ish' but needs more work. I put on the fin extension and, surprise, surprise it didn't fit resulting in filler being used to blend it in. I didn't put enough effort in when sticking the wings together as one wing needed some filler while the other is too deep to fix.

Troy, it is moving along at a reasonable pace but I would be happier without all the filling :-(
