Not much to report so far, but I got started on my first project for the group build on Saturday afternoon. Research is well underway.

I haven't actually cut any plastic yet, but its on the desk and the scheme has pretty much been locked in.

I'll be going with this scheme I think.

With the Centurion done, I got started today. Have to wait for some paint to arrive before I can start painting up the cockpit.

I've sprayed some primer, but won't be able to do any more until at least Tuesday night. Might have to start another kit tomorrow So I have something to do.

With the paint in hand, I mixed up a nice shade of interior/ green Zinc Chromate last night and got spraying.

After I sprayed it down, I learned that the wheel wells should actually be aluminium, but that's not problem. I'll fix it tonight. Should have the plane assembled and maybe in at least undercoat if not base colour, by the end of the weekend.

Nice. Well, Zinc Chromate isn't nice, but you know what I mean :D .

Even with a reasonable sleep in this morning, I managed to make a fair bit of progress today.

Image
Installed all the PE in the cockpit.

Image
Buttoned up the fuselage and it looks the goods.

Image
Assembly went pretty quickly after that. These Tamiya kits are incredibly well moulded and goes together with ease.

Image
Before to long, I had it undercoated, had sprayed the under side Light Grey and the top side Sea Grey.

Image
and even got the props painted up.

Tomorrow I'll mask up for the olive drab and mix up some light blue for the tail. Getting there quite quickly and its been really enjoyable.

You've been a busy boy today Troy. Great work so far, like what you did with the pit.
Cheers,
Matt.
