I have finally managed to have a more detailed look at the kit in conjunction with the images that Danni has kindly supplied of the real thing. A few comments:
- The fuselage halves needs some clean up at the join but this is to be expected for a short run kit.
- The panel lines on the fuselage in front of the cockpit require one side to be filled and rescribed as they do not line up. The other panel lines that run along the join also need some attention as they don't look correct when the two halves are mated.
- The propeller blades are nicely shaped but the ones in the review sample require to be fixed as they were slightly bent for some reason. This is easily fixed.
- I have compared the images of the real cockpit to the kit and the kit seems to be missing a few components as well as having extra ones that are not on the real one. This could be easily explained by the real one not being 100% complete, more detail will be shown when I am building it.
- The engine is not a complete replica of the original but the ends of the cylinders are hidden by the cowl. You will still need to detail the engine with cables etc as per the build I did but it is ok.
- The canopy is the Red Roo as review here on AMI, there are a few distortions on the plastic but these should polish out. I believe that it is a vacform of the kit canopy.
- The bomb bay is quite nice but will require a bit of extra detailing as you can only cast so much into something like that.

Like any model, what is provided is only the base for a model. This is definitely better than the original but extra detail does need to be added for a top notch version eg cables and other items.

Now I have finally received the Az Models Vengeance kit I have taken a few comparison images. Here are the panel lines that I am concerned about. The misaligned ones are not a war stopper as they are easily rectified but it is a pain. I have marked the panel lines with the green marking pen to give an indication of what I am talking about. The forward section of the bomb bay is probably the worst for alignment but in fact would be the easiest to fix as I am opening up the bomb bay on this build.

These images give you an indication of the difference in size and shape between the original kit fuselage and the OzMods version. I have aligned the fuselage halves by the rear of the cockpit opening. The middle image has the halves still aligned at the top of the fuselage, this is a good indicator in the large difference between the two parts.

Some more comparison images between the original and the OzMods version. The OzMods parts have been given a coat of Humbrol US interior green.

looks great dave, definately not a plane that was as popular as the spitfire, zero, 109 or mustang but well worth the build. great internal detailing of the ozmods upgrade kit.

It certainly is a good kit, I just need to get time to do more work on it! Alas, work keeps getting in the way :-(

One small bit of info, it seems that the fuselage problems I have are not replicated on other fuselages, the problem of getting one of the first one's off the line I suppose :-)
