F-84F Thunderjet finished

Postby Daz_C » Sat Jan 01, 2011 7:22 pm

Happy New Year all,
Had a bit of time today so I put this baby to bed.I really enjoyed this build and it showed,I had no issues with it that were a real problem. It is finished with a mix of Gunze,Tamiya and Testors Metalizers and a clear coat of Testors Metalizer sealer which gives it a semi gloss finish.I used Aeromaster Decals because the kit decals were a tad old.I decided not to fit the underwing stores and tanks,I really like the clean lines of the jet.I didn't weather it too much, just a wash over the gear bays, doors, inside the speed brakes and the few engraved panel lines that are on it.It's far from perfect but I'm pleased with the way it turned out.I really like the fact that it actually has a bit of colour on it,todays jets are so bland in comparison. It won't be my last 50's jet, that's for sure.I hope you like her,as always, all comments, good or bad are welcome :D .

Very nicely done mate. Great work :)
Brother: Do you really need that many Phantoms?
Me: Don't make me kick you outta the shed for asking dumb questions
Brother: But are you gonna build all these models?
Me: Yeah of course I am. Now get outta my shed
