Help needed with Fairey Firefly WB271 paint scheme

Hi all,
I want to build this aircraft using the Special Hobby Mk1 "Foreign Post War Service" boxing and Print Scale decal sheet 48-058. The 1st pic of the colour callout from the Print Scale instructions show it in a Sky,dark grey, yellow scheme but I have found a colour plate which appears to show the aircraft in A natural metal, yellow scheme (2nd pic). The photo on the Print Scale sheet appears to show the natural metal scheme

Would anyone here know what scheme would be correct, or if it was originally in the sky,dark grey Scheme and then stripped back to bare metal at a later date?

LOL, that is from the skins pack for IL-2, they used the spitfire as a template to make a bastardised Firefly for the game.

Sorry. I've never seen a RAN Firefly in standard camo top side with black/yellow under surface. I can give you multiple pictures of the Silver/black/yellow aircraft though or if you get onto Camden's facebook page, their Firefly is in original paint.

However, since the decal sheet has been taking research from a computer game website and the skin is actually natural metal over yellow/black, I'd not be trusting it.

hmm, thanks Brad, I'll check out the facebook page as you suggest. Looks like I'll be doing another nation's Firefly this time round lol. Live and learn huh?

PDF pages of photos with drawings of colour schemes can be uploaded to OneDrive or GoogleDrive if you are interested. I'll post one example photo. Already there is a Firefly PDF online here but I'm not sure what is in it after all these years - yep all good stuff.

Thanks for that, it appears I have the wrong kit to do the Aussie version, that'll teach me to buy decals before I buy the kit!!! I based my purchase on the decal sheet, damn lol!!

Hopefully you can offload your Mk 1 for a decent price.

My recollection of the target tug scheme is that the upper surfaces are painted silver rather than bare aluminium.
