OOB Group Build anyone?

Postby slinkymalinky » Fri Aug 01, 2014 2:32 pm

Hi all,

I've never participated in a group build but thought it might be fun for a project I've had tickling the back of my mind for a while. I've been telling myself for ages to do an absoultely 'out of the box' build and it seems like a good theme for a group.

I, like most modellers it seems, can't help modifying, upgrading, adding detail sets, getting after market decals, etc, etc. So I figure I want to just have a crack at doing a kit the simple way for a change. Nothing but what's in the box at all... no wire, no extra styrene, no extra cutting or sanding, no correcting.... you get the idea.

I think I'm going to be surprised how good and satisfying a build can be without all the add-ons I'm addicted to.

My kit of choice is an Accurate Miniatures TBM3 Avenger (since every other kit in my stash already has detail sets (or decal sets, or upgrade sets, or, or, or...) already on hand.

Any interest?

Cheers, Tony

Do decals count on an OOB build? There's a project in the works I want to do, kit is OOB but the decals are a WIF.
