Allrighty then

Moving along, this is how I modified the Aircon duct on the fin, which is way undersized in the Fly kit

First cut out the offending area, a a piece of tubing, and sand down

The engine pylons extended, and scraped down to begin with

Image

a bit of painting of the engines on the sprue

Image

Wings trailing edges sanded down vacform style

Image

I have never seen this on a DC9 Stab, maybe for later models, in any case I sanded them off

Image

For the Ansett one I tried the FS numner that Ray Seppala recommended which is International Orange, and it just doesn't look right, so did a mix of that and MM Chevy Engine Red,then just read the instructions, and they say to do exactly the same thing.

Masking up wings, from photo references the TN ones had the wings in grey all the way after the leading edge natural metal, but AN left the ailerons and flaps in natural metal, which is why the flap fairing still have to be fitted to that one

Nice progress Graeme. I am up to masking my Airfix kit with the white down and cured. Been side tracked with a couple of 747 builds at the moment.

I am your man Ray. I have a spare kit set doing nothing as a result of using after-market Contrail JT8s on mine. So I have your wheels and you have my engines :D . Can ya send me your address, and I will get them of to you.

Sorry guys but I'm gonna have to bail on this group build as I'll be moving house soon and all the modelling crap will be getting packed. Though if we get the house we want, there will be a dedicated modelling room so ya gotta love that :)
Brother: Do you really need that many Phantoms?
Me: Don't make me kick you outta the shed for asking dumb questions
Brother: But are you gonna build all these models?
Me: Yeah of course I am. Now get outta my shed

Hi Guys,
I didn't see this GB. I feel that I have to build for it. I've got an Airfix DC-9, no VH decals as yet, so I'll go shopping.
Given the late start, I know I'll struggle with the deadline, but I'll give it a red hot crack.
Cheers
